Introduction - We are to produce a final animation that lasts between 45 to 60 seconds, this is a open brief so anything goes, but the only requirement is that it shows some sort of emotion be it fear, love, hate, anger etc i have chosen to do some research into things that means to me and what i want the audience to feel at the end of the animation.
Original Idea - Original Idea was started because of the challenge to come up with a 50 word story that showed conflict in one way or another. So i decided to make it a war between two fruit clans as i did not have any other idea for it.

Below are some of the lesson exercise we did, things such as the pendulum swing to grasp the concept of smooth and fluid motion in after effects
Planning - I plan to make a animation that shows the world being destroyed due to the war going around, basically world war 3, but this is the final war that the world will have as it will devastate the planet and cause it to die from the mass destruction caused by the missiles and explosions.
Emotion Caused - What i want the audience to feel after is to be sad, angry and or upset by this because its a real situation that can happen in the future at any time. The planet has already gone through many wars and two world wars, it is in havoc at the moment with countries already and can easily be escalated to a larger scale.
100 Word Story - Space..dark, quiet and motionless, the world is shown with its bright blue colorful oceans and terrestrial lands full of shades green showing life and nature. The silence is quickly broken by a missile being launched from a random country on the other side impacting
America, sounds of ambulances and people screaming creates an atmosphere of death and dismay. Missiles are quickly returned and then a full retaliation is started with all the other countries and they are too busy fighting to notice the earth is dying and there is nothing left to fight for by the end of it.

Goodbye My Home - Script/Plot
Space Shot
The sun in the distance, the shot then changes its perspective and angle to show the earth in its view. the earth is shown with america being in shot and angle.
Earth Shot
Close up of earth to show more detail and have it fully cover the shot of the camera,
there is no sound at all, until it is broken by a sound of a rocket being fired by a unknown country on the other side of the world.
Missile Close-up
Close up of missile being shown flying through earth's atmosphere its flying fast and is about to impact its target..
Earth Shot
Zoom out of missile close up and show that it hits america, sounds of ambulances and women and children crying echo through space that break its silence.
Earth Shot
The sound goes quiet again but then America is shown to be firing a rocket to the country around the other side, there is a small gap of silence until impact where a mushroom cloud can be seen.
Earth Shot
This causes a full retaliation and then back and forth of the countries along with other countries joining in, there are explosions and rockets being fired in all directions with the sound of screaming and panic in the background echoing.

While this is happening the world is slowly turning bruised and grey with death everywhere happening. the middles are still being launched but there is no sign of them being slowed down in any way.
Closeups shots
The sounds of the missiles and people get louder and louder, the close ups shots of countries being hit, with the explosions shown are increased with the background ambient music being louder.
Earth Shot
The earth is now completely destroyed with craters and scares everywhere,. the last missile is launched with it nothing but silence follows. Only one sound of a crying baby left, echoing in the space with the shot being slowly zoomed out.
Typography Shot
The shot continues to zoom out with the crying baby still audible in the distance with the text that fades in is “Make Love, Not War” then it fades to black..
Update - 10/03/15
Elysium Concept Change - Due to the feedback received i have changed the overall plot of the animation, instead of a war the animation now is going to be instead a evacuation of earth when a asteroid threatens to destroy the earth, the twist and reality is that due to the short amount of time, only the rich and famous get to leave the planet with the exception of some women and children and leave the rest behind.
This is similar to the movie Elysium but instead of the reason being that they evacuate the earth because of the over population of the earth and the depleting resources that are to remain. once again the rich and wealthy can buy tickets to leave the planet and start a new life on the tera-formed spaceship that the rich and wealthy have created for themselves.
I will be looking into documents that involve the evacuation of the earth due to many reasons, a better life, threat of the sun, threat of something else, depleting resources and will use this to be able to make the evacuation of the earth more realistic.
Evacuate Earth - Documentary that portrays the hypothetical scenario of humans evacuating the planet earth before it is destroyed by a rogue neutron star. The documentary details the technical and social complications of building a generation ship to save humanity and other Earth organisms by relocating to a planet in another solar system.
I will be looking into if it was a real world scenario what kind of precautions the world will take to allow certain amount of people to leave and that too on spaceships that allow them to travel to an alternative such as mars.
I possibly will be using some footage of people running and screaming perhaps for a change of scene and scenario, the space scene for the animation will the shot of the earth spinning and then have the asteroid come into the shot.
Process of earth creation
I will be creating the earth in 3DS max, the way i will be creating it, is by adding a diffuse map to a sphere for the land and the sea, another sphere above it for the clouds with some transparency so only the clouds get shown through. And finally a third sphere is used for the atmosphere that is a blue hue transparent sphere for the glow of the planet.
I will then setup the planet to spin only a little bit such as 25 degrees, This is because if i have the animation of the earth spinning a full 360 degrees in a minute or so it would not give that certain realistic feel to it. If i don't have enough time to have it all animated to that point i will then instead take it into after effects for me to then use a plugin that is is called element 3D.
The element 3D plugin allows for me to add in 3D objects into After Effects and i can then edit and move the objects in 3D space. What makes it different then 3Ds Max is to work with the rendered 3D scene in live space, so as you work with the objects they are already rendered out to a certain quality. It's easier to work because you don't need to tweak the settings and render out the frame every single time as with each settings change it automatically updates the scene.
